i am reminded of a tale of two lovers who embark on a romantic moonlit drive, only for their vehicle’s engine to fail them during their journey, stranding them alone on the open road. when the man leaves to seek resources that will assist repairs, his partner decides to remain with the vehicle, reasoning that they should guard its stereo system against thieves who have been reported to frequent the area, and he instructs her to keep the doors locked for her safety. as she waits, she begins to question the length of time her companion’s quest is taking, but when she hears strange sounds and a request to be allowed access to the vehicle from outside, she remembers and heeds his advice. when she awakens the next morning, however, and realizes he has still not returned, she exits the car, and her fate thereafter is left uncertain. tell me, will - will you be able to continue to follow the instructions others have given you, even when your faith in them is tested? or will you leave the safety and certainty of your confinement, and man door hand hook car door?
